The Kill Devil Hills have released a second single from their forthcoming record Man, You Should Explode. Siam is another killer rock ‘n’ roll anthem that makes me wish I was throwing devil horns on the stage at Cherry Bar, instead of hibernating at home on yet another miserable, rainy, Melbourne day.
This song is just so goddamn catchy that my legs started doing the twist involuntarily when I put the CD on. With the 70’s sounding guitars and pounding rhythm section, The Kill Devil Hills can take me off to Siam any day.
The second track on the Siam single, Words From Robin To Batman, is a softer rock ballad perfect for pulling out the lighter and swaying in time to the music. I know I’ve said this before, but their singer sounds so much like Caleb Followill on this track, its just scary. There’s some lovely keyboard action going on, and gentle drums and guitars, with a chorus that is bound to inspire sing a longs right round the nation. I look forward to hearing the rest of Man, You Should Explode, which is slated for release later this month.
The Kill Devil Hills are playing The HiFi Bar in Melbourne on October 2. Catch them if you can.
