The Eagle is the new single from theredsunband. It is a little rock and also somewhat indie. Featuring strumming electric guitar, effects and banging drums it creates an interesting scene. Coming in at 2mins and 36secs, it's quite a short song and because of this it doesn't leave as much of an impact as making the same song a bit longer would have done.
Having the song play on repeat many times has almost the same effect. The vocals are atmospheric and go well with the music but there isnt much depth to the lyrics - though with this particular song that fact isnt so much of a hinderance.
The Eagle was recorded in a studio in Melbourne and is taken from theredsunbands upcoming album The Shiralee. I'm interested to see what the rest of the album will be like. This song is a nice introduction to the new ideas theredsunband has about how their sound should evolve. And I'm quite sure that on hearing The Eagle played live it would (as the young people say) rock out!
