Win a copy of All India Radio's 'Echo Other'
We have five copies of this album to be won!
'Echo Other' is the long awaited fourth album from Melbourne based All India Radio and follows their warmly received self titled album released in 2003.
Produced by electronic whiz kid Byron Scullin (Biftek, David Sylvian, David Bridie, High Pass Filter, Snog, Francois Tetaz/Wolf Creek soundtrack) this is the first time All India Radio have used an outside producer.
Byron has created a spectacular sonic soundscape, blending the best elements of the band’s ambient sounds & textures and samples with the energy of traditional drums, bass, guitar and a smattering of ethereal voices.
All India Radio emerged in 1998 after founding member Martin Kennedy stumbled upon some of the most evocative sounds he’d ever heard whilst listening to a friends’ badly recorded tape of Indian streetscapes. Inspired by the KLF’s classic 1988 album Chill Out, Martin fused the lo-fi recordings together with ambient sounds, added some drums & bass and All India Radio was born.
The band has since released three albums, the most recent of which received a 2003 ARIA nomination, and was used in the hit US TV series One Tree Hill . All India Radio have also scored music for film and television including a number of ABC TV Reality Bites episodes, a Canadian feature film Oblivion and the 2005 ASTRA Award winning Lifestyle Channel documentary ADHD: Driven To Distraction.
