After two successful EP releases, Cut Off Your Hands soon have an album in store. The Dwarf had a chat to bass player Phil Hadfield about the new album, his major inspirations and the upcoming Australia tour.

The band is extremely happy about how the record ended up. "As a whole, this is the best first record I could imagine us making" said Phil. "Something that people will most likely be surprised about this record, as opposed to our first two EPs, is that there is definitely a variety of ideas and sounds put down, and we hope people will treat this album as something to listen to from start to finish".

Phil has some favourite tracks to the new album: Happy As Can Be, Let’s Get Out Of Here and Nostalgia. "These songs to me represent everything I like about the album". On the questions on who his inspirations are, Phil answers: "In the past, I would listen to bands like Arab on Radar, Ex Models or Animal Collective and I liked how they were all creating new and amazing music". More recently, he said, he had been listening to stuff like Ariel Pink, Joh Maus,
Atlas Sound and Deer Hunter which was mostly all recorded at home.

As a message to the Australian fans, Cut Off Your Hands are really looking forward to the upcoming tour. "And if people want to buy the album, now is a good time as you either get it cheaper with a ticket to one of the shows, or if you pre-order you get it with a bonus disc of demos of songs that didn´t make the record and some B-sides" said Phil.
