Clare Bowditch delivered an up close and personal performance featuring her hits from her first two albums as well some new, unheard material.
Forgetting the words to the first verse of Lips Like Oranges, Bowditch, in her easy going natural manner, called up an audience member to help out on vocals.
From there she had the audience eating out of the palm of her hand and delivered a cabaret performance punctuated with humour and insight into her personal life. The intimate show included quirky instrumentation highlighted by her rendition of Between the Tea and The Toast played by blowing through a ceramic teapot.
She delivered favourites such as Divorcee by 23 and the audience's request of On This Side, getting the sold out crowd to sing in unison.
Also joining her on stage for two songs were three young competition winners from Adelaide who accompanied her on guitar, viola and pianuca.
When she wasn't cracking jokes, Bowditch displayed her fantastic range backed only by guitar and a broken down, ancient keyboard. Bowditch wrapped up the show with the crowd favourite, You Looked So Good, before returning for an encore.
