Astronomy Class Go Back to School Daze

The reggae and hip hop of 5 piece Astronomy Class has garnered wild acclaim, an album of the week on Triple J and FBi, and a swag of flailing legs dancing at live shows. When they team up with the dancehall antics of Melbourne Meets Kingston creator Mista Savona (album of the week on FBi, RRR, PBS and packeted by Triple J), you have a national tour set to electrify stages and get bodies dancing across this wide brown land.

Astronomy Class, unlike the Australian cricketers, are peaking at the right time, with thrilling sets at the Sydney Festival, Lily Allen sideshows and O-Week events. Furthermore, they’ve been booked for the Playground Weekender, Great Escape and Groovin’ the Moo festivals. Their melodic and uplifting hip hop is strengthened live, with the addition of young gun rapper The Tongue on stage as part of their show. After all, Skool Daze are better with a Bad Education.

Mista Savona’s phenomenal dancehall and reggae album Melbourne Meets Kingston is surfacing in people’s top releases of ‘07 list already. As part of Illzilla and a host of other bands, Mista Savona has rocked live stages for years – but this tour will be the debut performances of this project in all states except Melbourne.
