Andrew McManus Presents, in conjunction with Arnette, is thrilled to announce that a living legend in hip-hop, and one of the greatest rappers and pop culture icons of our time Snoop Dogg, is on his way to Australia!

Joining him is one of the most important and influential figures in rap history, the legendary Ice Cube.

Together these purveyors of hip hop have sold tens of millions of albums worldwide and are known for their dynamic live performances.

The West Coast veterans kick off the ‘Smoked Out Australian Tour’ in Brisbane on October 29, before traveling to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Grammy Award-winning rappers Bone Thugs n Harmony are also along for the ride making this an absolute essential show for any hip hop fan!

Promoter Andrew McManus remains extremely confident that the final part of Snoop’s visa application will be successfully processed in the very near future.

Snoop is a rare exception in the turbulent world of hip-hop. In a genre where big names come and go just as fast as hit records, Snoop Dogg has managed to stay amazingly relevant throughout his 16-plus years in the game, and continues to re-defy the rap game on a regular basis. From music to movies, video games to clothing lines and now his own hit TV show on ‘E! - Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood’, Snoop is truly a household name.

With nine Grammy nominations, and a massive amount of MTV, Billboard, MOBO, BET, American Music Awards and heaps more under his belt, his longevity can easily be credited to his musical creativity, which continues on his most recent album ‘Ego Trippin’, released in March through Universal Music.

The Snoop Dogg story is now well-told. He began performing at an early age in Golgotha Trinity Baptist Church and began rapping and playing piano in the sixth grade. After several stints in jail, one of his rap songs was heard by acclaimed producer Dr Dre who invited him to audition. From there, he became Dr Dre’s most notable protégé and released his debut album ‘Doggystyle” in 1993.
Released through Death Row Records, this was the first debut album EVER to enter the US charts at #1. And so began the career of one of the most illustrious rappers of all time.
Ice Cube is recognised as one of the most important figures in rap history – period. He began his career with Notorious West Coast Gangsta rap group N.W.A two decades ago. At the height of the group’s success, Ice Cube broke away to start his own solo career.
His initial release, ‘Amerikkka's Most Wanted’ (Priority, 1990) sold over a million copies. His sophomore solo effort, ‘Death Certificate’ (Priority, 1991), a concept album about the fall and rise of the black man, debuted at #1 on the R&B Album chart, #2 on the Top 200 album chart and went on to sell over two million copies. His impressive musical career also includes the multi-platinum success of both his double album ‘War and Peace’ and hit albums ‘Lethal Injection’, ‘Bootlegs & B-Sides’, ‘The Predator’, and the gold certified, independently released ‘Laugh Now, Cry Later’. Ice Cube has sold over 10 million albums to date.
Ice Cube has taken centre stage again with the release of his 9th solo album ‘Raw Footage’ which debuted last week at #1 on the US R&B Chart and #5 on the US Pop Chart. Released here on September 20 (Lench Mob Records/Inertia), it features the singles ‘Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It’ and ‘Do Ya Thang’. Cube toured Australia tour two years ago and left fans with no doubt as to why he continues to be one of the best rappers in music today.
Bone Thugs n Harmony have sold 10 million records with their first 2 albums in the mid 90’s and won a Grammy Award with their #1 single and hip hop classic, ‘Tha Crossroads’. The guys recently won Favourite Rap Band at the American Music Awards in 2007 after the release of their latest album ‘Strength & Loyalty’ which is a testament to their continued popularity.
The ‘Smoked Out Australian Tour’ is truly a unique opportunity to see some of hip hop’s finest together on one bill. Don’t miss out!
