Following his triumphant return to the national live stage in 2007, Peter Combe is back on the road in 2008, as he announces the “Juicy Juicy Green Grass Band Tour”, featuring Peter, his trusty keyboardist Phil and a full backing band!

Last year the ‘80s and ‘90s Australian children’s “pop star” made a debut of types, playing his retro hits including ‘Wash Your Face in Orange Juice’, ‘Newspaper Mama’ and ‘Toffee Apple’ to more than ten thousand loyal fans across the country yearning to re-live their youth. The predominantly 18-28yo audiences belted out classics such as: ‘Juicy Juicy Green Grass’, ‘Chopsticks’, ‘Spaghetti Bolognaise’ and were once again enchanted by the show stopping lullaby ‘Rain’.

Peter Combe’s retro appeal to the now 18 to 28 year olds who spent their formative years singing his songs and watching him on the ABC, saw the gen x phenomenon grow from a one-off sold out show at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel to sell-out’s at out major live music venues around the country. Fans wore homemade newspaper hats and had toffee apples painted on their faces to capture the nostalgia of the night. Punters queued for more than an hour afterwards to meet Peter and have their vinyl albums and cassettes signed. As the MySpace hype spread, ticket sales around the country went crazy with literally hundreds of people turned away at some of the shows.

Peter Combe’s career has spanned more than 30 years – starting with a six-year stint presenting Music Time for BBC Television in London in 1977. But it was the Australian release of his album ‘Toffee Apple’ in 1987 and the first ever music video clip made for kids for the title track that propelled him to become Australia’s first children’s “popstar”.

With more than 1 million album and video sales and 3 ARIA Awards (Best Children’s Album) under his belt, Peter’s songs are as relevant today, as always. His unique approach to writing children's music aims to extend, surprise and inspire the audience.

Peter and his Juicy, Juicy Green Grass Band hit the road on Sunday 15 June in Melbourne, with tickets on sale from 28 April.

“When the screaming, stamping crowd brings him back out for a second encore, it’s a miracle he’s allowed to leave the stage” - InPress, Melbourne
