During the 90’s Britpop era, this motley crew of cheeky youngsters typified the upbeat and positive mood of a nation who just wanted a damn good party. With their mad hair, massive sideburns and wild, crazy, running-along-the-beach-without-a-care-in-the-world-type antics, SUPERGRASS were the band of choice for the kids.

Fast-forward to 2008, the kids have grown up, and so have SUPERGRASS. The past ten plus years have seen SUPERGRASS deliver a strong body of work earning the group devotees worldwide. Secret Sounds is thrilled to announce that Gaz, brother Rob, Mick and Danny return to Australia this October for the first time since their killer Supergrass is 10 tour of 2004, to play shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

As one of today's most gifted songwriting bands, SUPERGRASS has experimented with a mixture of blues, country, glam and raw rock 'n' roll over the years. With a lifetime’s worth of fantastic tunes already under their belts, their musical prowess has resulted in two albums listed in the 1001 Albums You Must Hear before You Die – a sterling effort for a bunch of lads who have only recently left their 20’s.

Diamond Hoo-Ha is their sixth studio album and is the band at their exuberant best. It’s an album of raucous rock ‘n roll songs that are glitzy and glam as they are punchy and gritty. With simmering verses, taut rhythms and flirtatious bass lines, this is effortless cool and in the words of NME “ definitely worth making a hoo-ha over.”

Live, their performance oozes rock-star swagger. Recent reviews describe Coombes as having more than a touch of Mick Jagger about him, as prancing about, while behind him, Danny drums every song as though attempting to break a speed record.

“True showmen, you can't but leave on a high” – The Guardian, UK

From energetic, young and roughshod to energetic, veteran and polished, one message is still patently clear “enjoy the good times while they last”. Twenty-four carat stuff, guaranteed. Alright!
