Tegan and Sara

The audience learnt early that Tegan of Tegan and Sara had been a very sick girl the day of the show and when they walked on stage Tegan assured us that yes, she had been “puking and shitting all day”. Despite that they launched into a great set but it was only a few songs in that Tegan needed to take a break and leave the stage, leaving Sara to tell stories and keep us amused.

I was amused enough with the sly under the breath remarks and hand gestures slung back and forward between the sisters all night. Its not serious, it’s just a thing they do, take the piss out of each other.

Tegan returned to the stage and took to a number on the keyboards. The next song however saw Tegan sitting atop her amp and the next laying on the floor (see photos) I’d never seen a show where one of the artists was that sick but was refusing to leave the stage.

The show was a very, laid back affair in which the audience was treated to a few stories and more than a few laughs. Tegan and Sara are fantastic performers who know how to keep an audience entertained sick or not.
