Frenzal Set List

This is my first review for The Dwarf, it's about the 20th time I've seen Frenzal Rhomb live; and it gets better and better every time.

I arrived late upon the local Perth band The Decline playing. Though that gave me plenty of time to get drunken enough to enjoy the Perth boys, 3 Days Later. Upon their arrival on the stage they announced that they were in fact Frenzal Rhomb. Throughout their performance they played head nodding melodies “Die” with heart warming lyrics such as “Die Motherfucker Die”. Which suited perfectly with the disrespect for the crowd, which involved spitting, and the constant demand of “show us your boobs” I found it amusing but I have a sense of humor.

Even when nobody playing the pit could just not stop, I think I must of gotten knocked down more then then when the band actually played. The Rhomb boys came on the stage mimicking an 80's hit that I cant recall, looking like they just came from a job interview with there snazzy attire then broke into 'White World'. As always there was plenty of witty banter between songs and even some hip hop moments (“word TC!”). I they touched on every album and some rarities it was the first time I've seen them they didn't play ' I know why the dinosaurs became extinct' playing 'Racist' after 'Graham Abo Henry' was amusing though and closed with 'Punch In the Face'. They also announced that they were not breaking up and it was just a ruse to sell tickets, but this would be their last concert for the decade.

Some of the highlights included the crowd toppling over the moshing wheel-chaired fan, the Doctor had some rather witty remarks about that... but if you weren't there then you don't deserve to read it. For an encore Gordy's side project Pet Meat rocked the stage. This causing confusion of 99% of the crowd. There line up was Aaron (Jaws/Grim Fandango/From The Ruins) doing vocals, Lonny (3 Days Later/Battletruck) on the drums, Gordy (Frenzal Rhomb/Mindsnare) abusing guitar, Nigel (Mindsnare) with the bass. If your unaware of Pet Meat are they are a satirical hardcore band. Designed to take the piss out of the current hardcore scene
