Ivy League Records and the Mushroom Group have just announced that they have struck a new deal to combine the A&R skills of Ivy League and the resources and talents of the Mushroom Group to establish Ivy League as a major independent label in the world.

Under the new arrangement, The Mushroom Group and Ivy League become partners in the Ivy League label.

Pete Lusty, Andy Cassell and Andy Kelly will remain co-directors and will provide all A & R for the label via their offices in Sydney, London, New York and LA. Speaking about the new arrangement Andy, Pete and Andy said:

“We started Ivy League in 1997 to give our favourite bands the opportunity to release music because we felt that people had to hear their talent and creative excellence, and that philosophy is what continues to drive the label. Working with Michael is in turn inspiring, hilarious, great fun, and never, ever dull, and we look forward to a really exciting future with him and his great team.”

Michael Gudinski from the Mushroom Group said he was thrilled with the new partnership.

“The team at Ivy League possess the same passion and dedication for Australian music that has defined the Mushroom Group for the past three decades. I love working with Pete, Andy & Andy and our combined talents will ensure Ivy League becomes one of the world’s hottest independent labels.”
