Aussie Rockers Campaign for Indigenous Lives

Missy Higgins and John Butler join a long list of Aussies to sign a petition released today calling on our politicians to narrow the life expectancy gap between indigenous and non-indigenous people.

The petition, which was signed by 80,000 Aussies, is being released to coincide with the first National Close the Gap Day.

The stats tell us Indigenous Australians live on average 17 years shorter than those of non-indigenous Australians.

That’s a pretty sad state of affairs and today’s campaign hopes to close that gap within a generation.
