California’s Lagwagon, one of Fat Wreck Chords original signings, are still delivering the finest in Californian melodic punk years after they practically invented the genre. The band have just confirmed a tour of Australia for February 2006, armed with their new album “Resolve”.
Resolve is a thematic meditation on the suicide of Lagwagon's original drummer Derrick Plourde, who was last seen in Australia when the Mad Caddies took to the road with Frenzal Rhomb a few years ago. Derrick’s death tossed much of the punk rock establishment into shock and sadness. It also lit a magical fire that culminated in LAGWAGON's most inspired and finest musical release in nearly a decade. Resolve is a milestone for the band, and a tribute to a lost member of the family.
