Laura Veirs and Jen Cloher team up for a string of shows
Headed back to promote her Nonesuch release, ‘Year of Meteors’, Laura teams up with the equally talented Jen Cloher, for a week of shows around the country together.
Both Laura and Jen are set to appear at The Harvest Festival in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula wine region, along with headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Veirs’ background in geology and kinship with the rugged landscape meld together with her punk performing roots to form an unusual musical outlook. Following up her mesmerising album ‘Carbon Glacier’ was no mean feat, however Laura once again crafts inventive and artful pop songs with her enchanting ‘Year of Meteors’
We could think of no more perfect match for Laura’s intimate poetry, then that of Jen Cloher. Her heartfelt, sultry blend of blues-edged, country-flecked rock strikes a similar chord. Jen is set to perform as a two-piece, delivering songs off her warmly received 2006 release, ‘Dead Wood Falls’
