Further to the loss of the incredible drumming talents of Josh Freese, another key member of the Nine Inch Nails touring ensemble has announced he is departing to work on his solo career.

Keyboardist / guitarist / electro-genius extraordinaire Alessandro Cortini announced on Sunday that he is leaving the line-up to concentrate on his own music.

"It's been exactly four years since I joined Nine Inch Nails and the time has come for me to move onto new things," he said.

"I feel a need to explore other paths in music and life which leads me to leave the tour at this stage.

"I am grateful for the chance I was given; it doesn't happen every day to be able to work next to some of the most talented people on this planet."

Cortini, who has been writing music with friend Pelle Hillström under the name Modwheelmood for some time now, has just begun a solo musical venture with his beloved Buchla under the unlikely title, Blindoldfreak.
