Arctic Monkeys kick start 2009 with shows in Sydney and Melbourne alongside their Big Day Out performances.

In 2006 Arctic Monkeys saw their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not shoot straight to the top of the British charts. They received a Brit Award for Best Single for I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and won the much coveted UK Mercury Music Prize 2006. Their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare topped the charts again in April 2007, earning them two Brit Awards for Best Album and Best Band.

Recently the band went into the Californian desert to record with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme with new material planned to be unveiled in the New Year.
