Eskimo Joe returns to the touring circuit to headline their national ‘BEATING LIKE A DRUM TOUR’ throughout May 2007.
Eskimo Joe kicked off the new year touring the country throughout January/February as part of the Big Day Out line up, as well as celebrating their single ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’ coming in at #2 on the annual Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown and their ARIA Award winning album, Black Fingernails, Red Wine selling over 250,000 copies.
The band were in their hometown last night for the annual WAMi (West Australian Music Industry) Awards, where they were nominated in seven categories and won two of the coveted WAMington’s for Best Commercial Pop Act and Best Single ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’. Eskimo Joe performed a special set at the WAMi’s, before boarding the overnight flight from Perth to Sydney to attend the ARIA No.1 Award Ceremony where they were honoured for the #1 success of their album Black Fingernails, Red Wine and closed the awards with an acoustic version of their latest single, ‘New York’ – their third Top 30 single. Eskimo Joe has had 38 consecutive weeks with a single in the ARIA Top 40 Singles Chart and their album remains in the Top 15 after 36 weeks!
