Bertie Blackman and her Fast Bitch

After sell-out album launches in Sydney and Melbourne last November, Bertie Blackman will hit the road again for a string of headline shows throughout January and February, supported by Sparkadia.

Bertie Blackman caught everyone's attention in late 2004 with her debut albumHeadway and the killer single 'Favourite Jeans'. Fast forward to 2006, which saw Bertie emerge as a major player on the local music scene with the release of her acclaimed sophomore albumBlack, and several more hits including 'Television', 'You Kill Me', 'Hold Me Close' and her latest single, 'Fast Bitch'.

Black was produced by ARIA award winning producer Paul McKercher (Augie March, You Am I, Eskimo Joe), and is the next taste in Bertie's evolution to electric guitar, with distortion, pounding drums and killer hooks featuring prominently. Walking in the footsteps of iconic female artists including Bjork, PJ Harvey, Blondie and Patti Smith, Bertie's music is raw, soulful and seductive.

Forging a reputation for her mesmerising live shows, Bertie captivated audiences across the country on her national album launch tour last November, selling out shows in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as performing at the sold out Pyramid Rock Festival and The Peats Ridge Festival in December.
