Gomez Announce Australian Tour

Gathering from all points around the globe these days, Ian, Ben, Tom, Olly, Blackie and percussion pal Dajon will again charm the flared pants off their many friends in good ol' Oz.

The band's love affair with Australia is well documented, and attended. First here in 2000 for Love Police's new foray into tour promoting, the then bright young lads from Southport in England, vowed all comers with sell out shows around the nation supporting their first 2 albums, Bring It On and Liquid Skin.

They have returned five times and played everywhere from sweaty Darwin to a table top in a Bondi cafe. Highlights include a show stopping performance as headliners of Splendour In The Grass in 2002 and a very memorable gig in a giant iron works on Cockatoo Island in 2005. This as well as many intimate club shows, football fields, even soulless arenas where the band somehow managed to retain the magic.

Their most recent tour in August 2006 saw the lads take it to new territories in Newcastle and Darwin, and this time sees them head to the nations' capital Canberra as well as their first ever Tasmania performance! Plus a return bout to their new found pals in Newcastle. They will also play the East and West Coast Blues and Roots Festival, as well as the inaugural Southern Roots festival in Hobart.

This will probably be the last leg in the band's world conquering tour in support of their latest long player, How We Operate on ATO Records thru Shock. They have played all points and with such diverse acts as Jimmy Buffett and Matisyahu, but the real 'mez shows are when they are their own beasts, and musical beasts they are when they take to this country's stages.
