After completing their busiest January ever, Dappled Cities prepare to play some very special February shows. Work began on January 3 for the Dappled crew as they laced up their racing boots to support Modest Mouse at the Enmore Theatre – complete with Johnny Marr watching from stage left. To warm up for their inaugural Big Day Out set, Dappled Cities performed 2 sold-out shows at the Hopetoun Hotel in Sydney, featuring music from both Dappled albums – and then mixed it up for the remainder of January with more shows, a video shoot for their current ‘Fire Fire Fire’ single and signing-off on a remix of that same song by the DFA label’s Tim Goldsworthy in New York.
In order to continue the year the way it has begun, Dappled Cities will host 3 very special evenings this February – one in Melbourne, one in Canberra and of course their hometown of Sydney. Dappled Cities play Melbourne’s legendary Bootleg, Geddes Lane this coming Saturday, and follow up the following weekend by hosting a 4-hour cruise on Sydney Harbour. Tickets to both gig’s are extremely limited, and these will be the band’s only headline shows for sometime as the Dappled juggernaught will spend most of March and April in the US in preparation for the release of their ‘Granddance’ album this American summer.
