The creative force behind the extended family that has comprised Giant Sand over the years, Howe Gelb returns to Australia in 2008 for dates in October and November.

Howe Gelb started out on his musical journeys some time in the late 70’s and has since amassed a catalogue of 40+ albums under the monikers of Giant Sand, OP8, The Band Of Blacky Ranchette, Arizona Amp and Alternator and of course, Howe Gelb. The roll call of artists who have contributed and collaborated with Howe over the years reads like a who’s who of alt-country/indie heaven – Joey Burns and John Covertino (of Calexico), Chan Marshall (Catpower), Kristin Hersh, M. Ward, Jeremy Gara (Arcade Fire), Neko Case, Vic Chesnutt, John Parish, Granddaddy and more.
