Klaxons Take Out Mercury Prize
» Klaxons re-scheduled Australian Tour dates announced - August 10, 2007
In a surprise victory, Klaxons have taken out the this year’s annual Mercury Prize for the best British or Irish Album.
The English four-piece took the prize out ahead of favourites Amy Winehouse and Bat For Lashes.
Some critics had penned last year’s winners Artic Monkeys to be the first act ever to take the prize out two years in a row, but alas, it was not to be.
Instead, the 20,000 pound prize was awarded to the Klaxons for their debut album, Myths of the Near Future
