Neko Case solo Jan/Feb Australian tour
» Neko Case solo Jan/Feb Australian tour - December 15, 2006
Neko Case, the modern day folk singer (and the soaring voice behind pop group the New Pornographers), is renowned for her beautiful alt country melodies.
Neko Case returns to Australian stages throughout January and February next year, to perform songs from her solo records.
After leaving home at the age of 15, Case began her career as a drummer in punk rock bands The Del-Logs, The Propanes and Maow, and it wasn't until the then 19 year old discovered an obscure spiritual album by Bessie Griffin and her Gospel Pearls, that she realized she wanted to sing.
"I was heavily into punk rock but this record made me feel like, you know what, these people are singing about something they really care about. It's like their voices are these crazy cannons or something, and they could just blow the shit out of their way with them. I wanted to be able to sing like that, because I thought that must've felt really good."
Don't miss Neko Case as she tours Australia with her band in January/February next year.
