Powderfinger are set to tour again this June on their 'Upstairs at the Downstairs' national tour. Performing two sets – one acoustic followed by a second rock set with intermission in between, this will be an event for all Powderfinger fans!
Ticket buyers will also have the opportunity to choose the band’s set list, by voting for their favourite songs online, bringing about another layer of interactivity for the audience as they get to hone the bands acoustic and electric sets.
“For this tour we’re doing something a little different, something a little more intimate. We’re trying a concept we’ve never done before on a tour, and that is to split the show into two halves. One of our main focuses for this tour is to make it a little more personal and have more interaction with our fans and what they would like to hear us play. Hence, they’re choosing our set list ... we will be at their mercy!” said guitarist Darren Middleton.
Saturday, 29 March also sees Powderfinger release the fourth single Who Really Cares (featuring the sound of insanity) from their critically acclaimed multi platinum album, Dream Days at the Hotel Existence. This will be an exclusive iTunes release and features a previously unreleased B-side One More Kiss As You Fly Away.
Australia’s newest troubadour Whitley will be supporting the tour around Australia. From the opening bars of Whitley's charming debut album The Submarine, his intricate storytelling and striking arrangements display a musical maturity beyond his years.
Tickets for all shows go on sale 9.00am Friday, 11 April, 2008
