Rockers Flake It Early. Who Would Have Thunk It?
It’ll come as a surprise to few that rock stars are more likely than others to die before reaching old age.
Still, researchers at Liverpool John Moores University decided to run the figures, as academics love to do, to confirm the obvious.
The study spanned several generations of rockers from Elvis to Eminem, and found… *drum roll please Mr Bonham*… rock stars were two to three times more likely to prematurely kick the bucket than the rest of the population.
Again, unsurprisingly, more than a quarter of the deaths looked at in the study were related to drugs and alcohol.
If you're a rock star and worried about this news, apparently you're most vunerable during the first 5 years that you find fame.
Here’s hoping there’s a similar correlation for Idol contestants…
