The Cat Empire

When a record 7 shows were sold out by the legendary, You Am I at Sydney's Metro Theatre in September 1996, a benchmark was set that has never been challenged. Enter promising young things, The Cat Empire, who in October this year will attempt to set a new record with 8 shows over 7 days, starting October 14.

The Metro record attempt is in celebration of the release of their new album So Many Nights on September 22. The event will see hundreds of fans fly in from other states, and will be supported by The Bamboos, and a troupe of other performers.

The Cat Empire are renowned for their live shows in Australia, and word has spread fast internationally. The band have spent most of the past 4 years traveling the world, and in the past year have sold more hard tickets than any other contemporary Australian band on the international touring circuit in the same period.
