Walrus is setting off at the end of January 2007 on a Sydney/East Coast Tour to coincide with the release, through Shock Records, of the band’s anticipated second EP, The End Of The Earth Show. According to Walrus, The End Of The Earth Show, is best described as ‘an apocalyptic love letter’. The band believes it showcases their growing strength as songwriters, producers and musicians. Lead single ‘War!’, with regular airplay, is already making an impact with its powerful anti-apathy lyrics and Bob Dylan inspired blues/punk sound.

‘The End of the Earth Show’ has seen good early reviews, and the pressure will now be on the boys of Walrus to live up to the expectations of not only their fans but also of the industry. JJJ’s Richard Kingsmill set the benchmark with his recent on-air comment ‘You can tell these guys would be fantastic live’, while Annandale Hotel’s website prophesied in 2006: ‘Walrus are unreal! This band is going to be big – keep an eye on them!’

The Walrus Sydney shows begin 31st January at the Spectrum, Sydney City; followed by Fisho’s at Manly on 2nd and the Excelsior, Surry Hills on 3rd February with Melbourne’s kings and queen of sleazy punk, Sin City. The Excelsior is looking forward to the band repeating the popular live performances of their November 2006 residency there which, according to the hotel’s management, was one of the most successful residencies the hotel has ever seen. Not only did they pull great crowds, but Walrus fans were also keen to support the bar.

After the Sydney gigs the boys will head off to Canberra – Kingston (Holy Grail) 16th February and the Oxford Tavern in Wollongong on 17th February supporting White Room.

Although dates have not yet confirmed, Walrus performances are planned for Melbourne, Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, and Coffs Harbour... Stay tuned for updates!
