After a series of sold out shows throughout March, Thirsty Merc are pleased to announce an even bigger run of live dates to launch their brand new album 'Slideshows'.

Fans will be able to experience Thirsty Merc in even bigger venues and hear their favourite songs, including the ARIA Top Ten single '20 Good Reasons'.

'Slideshows' was released on April 21, 2007, and is the follow up to Thirsty Merc's self-titled debut album, which featured the smash hits 'Someday Someday', 'In The Summertime' and 'My Completeness', and went on to sell over 120,000 copies.

After selling out their first run of shows around the country, Thirsty Merc will be taking to the road again, supported by Old Man River and The Hampdens.

"Getting back to audiences in the sweaty pub setting was a total blast," explains frontman Rai Thistlethwayte, "Something we've grown up on and a great way to reconnect and introduce a new swag of tunes. But on the other side we're looking forward to launching our new album SLIDESHOWS in some theatres and classic venues from late May onwards...it's going to be a fun year."

Thirsty Merc are singer/songwriter Rai, bassist Phil Stack, drummer Karl Robertson and guitarist Sean Carey. Since forming in 2002, the band have become much-loved live favourites at venues around the country and across the airwaves.

The band have been recording their second album over the past twelve months, with production centered on Birdland Studios, Melbourne, home base to long-time Thirsty Merc producer Lindsay Gravina (Living End, Magic Dirt, Shihad).
