Sydney’s Lights Out and Adelaide’s Mere Theory will play a set of reciprocal shows in July as part of Lights Out’s national EP launch tour.
The two bands first met late in 2008, when Lights Out supported Mere Theory on the NSW leg of their ‘Australian Atlas’ tour.
Lights Out have now invited Mere Theory to join them for shows in Adelaide and Sydney as part of their national EP launch tour.
Both bands have spent most of 2009 writing and recording new material.
Adelaide-based Mere Theory will play their first club show for 2009 when they headline the Ed Castle band room on Saturday 11 July. The band is currently hard at work recording their highly anticipated second studio album, still untitled.
Lights Out, featuring Nick Van Breda (ex Staying At Home) on Vocals/Guitar recently finished recording their second EP Brown Paper Packages for Candy Pants Records.
This will be Lights Out’s first visit to Adelaide. Since forming in 2007, the band has shared stages with Blueline Medic, British India, Young and Restless, Lungs, and Angela's Dish.
