Melbourne musician Jordie Lane is gearing up for the release of his long awaited debut album Sleeping Patterns, which will be available in-store next Friday 12 June.
To celebrate, Jordie Lane is pleased to confirm the addition of twelve more album launches to his national tour. You can catch Jordie launch Sleeping Patterns in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Ocean Grove, Wollongong, Bangalow, Kincumber, Lambton, Maitland, Katoomba, Mullumbimby, Castlemaine, Leongatha, Bunbury, Margaret River and Fremantle during June and July.
Co-produced by Jeff Lang and Tim Hall, Sleeping Patterns had been brewing in the subconscious of Jordie’s mind for four years, and eventually came to fruition in the winter of 2008. Recorded in little more than five days, the album is storytelling at its rawest, gutsiest, and most fragile.
Featuring guest performances by prominent roots artists Ashley Davies, Jeff Lang, Laura Jean, and Liz Stringer, Sleeping Patterns moves between finger pickin’ ballads, western tunes, rockin’ blues and the odd sea shanty. These are songs delivered with such beautiful imagery and wisdom that it’s hard to believe most tracks were written before Jordie had even turned 21.
Over the past five years Jordie has released two EPs, played countless live shows including several sold out performances at The Spiegeltent and The Port Fairy Folk Festival, and toured alongside Loudon Wainwright lll, Gotye, Jeff Lang, and Kate Miller Heidke. Highly regarded as a solo performer, Jordie also collaborated with Canadian songwriter Tracy McNeil under the moniker of Fireside Bellows, and they are still receiving accolades today for their 2008 release, No Time To Die.
2009 will see Jodie Lane release Sleeping Patterns, complete an extensive national album launch tour, and make appearances on ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks and Sunday Arts programs. Catch Jordie at a venue near you throughout June and July!
