Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen
Devilishly handsome, musically brilliant, audaciously entertaining, Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen embark on a national tour throughout July to launch their new album and show - Dead Men Tell A Thousand Tales.
Dripping with romance, adventure and desire, Dead Men Tell A Thousand Tales is a collection of darkly humourous, highly emotive songs and stories exploring death as a vital and essential celebration of life.
"Riotous fun and frankly unforgettable this is a twisted cabaret of dark delights. The Black Sea Gentlemen, a troupe of lost souls drawn together by the indomitably depraved and nquestionably magnetic Mikelangelo, weave a seductive spell around the audience, inviting them to explore the shadowy recesses of the soul." ***** The List UK
With the charming, coiffured crooner Mikelangelo at their helm, the Black Sea Gentlemen plunge headlong into a netherworld of intrigue and imagination. Swoon to the tune of Rufino the atalan Casanova, thrill to the tale of The Great Muldavio, delight in Little Ivan the song and dance man, and be chilled by Guido Libido - legend of Balkan Western cinema. This is a deliciously macabre 'Kabaret Noir' with breathtakingly beautiful theatrical vision, a fantastical world populated with a cast of gargoyles and demons, angels and crows, doomed sailors and spectral gunfighters, whistling soldiers and dancing skeletons.
Mikelangelo is one of the great performers of his time and has toured the world as a star of the Olivier Award winning production La Clique. The Black Sea Gentlemen are his formidable musical ensemble and together they have packed houses and enthralled audiences and critics from the Sydney Opera House to Budapest. Following the Australian launch tour in July, the group will embark on a UK tour throughout August and September.
