Jonathan Boulet is the newest player in the Modular clubhouse, a precociously inspired 21 year old skate rat from Sydney’s Northwest. Wielding a brand of ceremoniously uplifting, deeply colourful pop that sounds like something for which youve been inadvertently searching but never dreamed youd find, his debut, self-titled record is a certified treasure trove skip across the indie pop spectrum, from melancholic acoustic laments to more abstract electronica-tinged instrumentals, from tribal, ritualistic chants to full blown Panavision pop. A joyous gem of a debut, the 11-track Jonathan Boulet record is set to be unleashed on the world this Dec, ahead of this headline show with his band of merry men and his performance at Homebake.
