Melbourne outfit Car Stereo Wars is gearing up for the release of its debut album For Your Comfort and Safety, which will be independently released through Greg Records on 01 August 2008. To celebrate its release, Car Stereo Wars will launch For Your Comfort and Safety on Thursday 28 August at The Toff. Recording of For Your Comfort and Safety was completed in 2008, following many delays as a result of births, deaths, and day jobs. The album showcases the band’s knack for genre mixing - from the bouncy pop of ‘Radio Edit’ to the sweeping outer space adventure of ‘Smooth’, the music is a seamless blend of acoustic, orchestral and electronic instruments.

Car Stereo Wars formed in 2000 and have released two EPs to date. Their first EP Project A included help from Ash Naylor (Even), Chris Brodie (The Broken Arrows), and Philippa Nihill (The Underground Lovers), and spawned the radio single ‘Broken’. The single subsequently gained the attention of triple j and found its way onto a Ministry of Sound Chillout Sessions compilation. The band then signed with Hussle / Ministry of Sound in 2003 and released their second EP They Asked Me To Be In A Movie. The track ‘Come To Nothing’ was also included on Ministry of Sound Chillout Sessions compilation later that year, before the band amicably parted ways with its label and commenced work on more pop based material that has formed the basis of For Your Comfort and Safety
