ROCKET SCIENCE, over three albums, have created some of the most exciting sounds of this century, with a live show that lesser bands would die for and a swag of killer tunes that have made a firm indent on the public psyche. After the release of the third album “Eternal Holiday”, they had to battle a number of set backs including Roman’s coma and Paul’s broken leg, but the members of ROCKET SCIENCE (rounded out by the relatively injury free Kit and Dave) pulled together and without even a record label to call home, self produced an amazing riposte to those who thought the band may be finished.

So rest assured ROCKET SCIENCE is the same four-headed beast it’s always been. However, there is one important difference - the 2008 model comes complete with a brand new album, a shiny platter known as “DIFFERENT LIKE YOU”. It’s easily some of their best work; this album is packed with the conviction of a rocknroll group who know what needs to be done, with rollicking tunes like debut single the punk/psych rocker known as “Psychic Man” (still receiving generous airplay nationally) the decadent go-go raunch of new single “Sinful Cowboy” at radio this week, not to mention the pop-smart “With You I’ll Be Someone”, and reaching epic heights on a stately track called “The Clones”. Though the band continues to straddle genres, it’s their impeccable ensemble playing and feel that ties this album together with a strong, democratic song-writing base combining to produce a diverse yet cohesive piece of modern music.

Those who missed seeing the band in full swing on their single launches in May will be happy to know that this new album will be accompanied by a national tour taking in both coasts. In Sydney the band will land on Surry Hills’ Hopetoun Hotel for three amazing nights with a carnival of support acts & DJs, a whole weekend’s worth of fun to be had. Special guests will be announced very soon. Catch ROCKET SCIENCE on their DIFFERENT LIKE YOU TOUR
