After successful nights with Silkie and Jon Convex and an upcoming reservation with LA’s Gaslamp Killer, Niche Productions’ Dubstep/Funk/Future Beats night Hold Tight! presents an evening with Warp Records’ Glasgweigan producers Hudson Mohawke and Rustie.
An unfortunate bit of misadventure kept Hudmo from joining the Flying Lotus-Dam Funk-GLK bill earlier this year, however Hudson will be coming back even stronger after releasing his devastating Satin Pathers and Pleasure Principle EPs this year. Both are examples of how the young producer has sharpened his teeth in the future music game but also how he plans to put pop producers on notice, gaining the giddy support of heavyweights like Just Blaze in the process.
Rustie makes his Australian debut in 2012 after a terrific end to 2011, with his debut Glass Swords hitting speakers with as many certified bangers as there were ‘no he didn’t’ moments. A mix of RnB Crunk, 90s House and Techno, Trance, Dubstep and Ocharina Of Time, Glass Swords sees the young Glasgweigan producer fitting in perfectly at Warp Records as he acknowledges the Acid House of people like LFO but uses this inspiration to create something unlike anything you’ve heard before.
In the ever growing summer calendar of events, this is one you won’t want to miss as two emerging superstars of electronic music come to Sydney to party together for one night only.
