Performing their greatest hits and classic tunes, Mick Hucknall and Simply Red are set to charm and seduce audiences across the nation through February 2009
In what is being billed as the Greatest Hits Live, Simply Red lead by charismatic main man Mick Hucknall, will revisit many of the highlights of their incredible 25 year, 10 album career, in theatre and outdoor shows around the country this Summer in what will be their first national tour in over 10 years.
From their very first album Picture Book (1985), to Stars (1991) which sat at the top of the UK charts for 19 weeks, to their last studio album Stay (2007), the hits and fan favourite tunes in the offering are staggeringly numerous.
To date Simply Red have announced only 6 European 2008 shows as the start of their Greatest Hits Tour, including just one UK show this December at London’s O2 Arena.
Showcasing Simply Red’s amazing history, the set list includes Money's Too Tight To Mention, Holding Back the Years, The Right Thing, Stars, For Your Babies, Fairground, Thrill Me, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Something Got Me Started, A New Flame, and Sunrise.
Offering unmissable performances, the tour will celebrate the release of the band’s eagerly anticipated Greatest Hits CD and DVD (Liberator) available later this year.
Joining Simply Red at all shows will be KATE CEBERANO.
As one of Australia’s foremost artists, Kate has been performing for us for more than 20 years. This year Kate released her 17th album So Much Beauty, following up the 2007 platinum release Nine Lime Avenue.
Showcasing her breathtaking vocals, So Much Beauty features remarkable covers of many of the tracks that have struck a chord with Kate, plus three original songs including a track with her ‘It Takes Two’ partner AFL star Russell Robertson. Expect Kate to deliver wonderful live performances for which this brightly shining light is renowned.
