One of music’s most-loved and celebrated stars SIR TOM JONES will headline the next series of ‘a day on the green’ concerts in February/March 2010.
The Frontier Touring Company and Roundhouse Entertainment is pleased to announce the superstar entertainer will be performing at a series of indoor venues and seven ‘a day on the green’ winery events.
Tom has enjoyed a phenomenal career spanning five decades, and along the way has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, continually topped charts and won an unmatched reputation as one of THE great live performers. With chart-topping hits including ‘It’s Not Unusual’, ‘What’s New Pussycat’, ‘She’s A Lady’ and club favourites ‘Sex Bomb’ and ‘Kiss’, the concert is set to be one of THE most memorable ever staged in the Hunter Valley.
Special guest support artist will be the fabulous David Campbell, one of Australia’s most popular entertainers.
Tom’s unique vocal power and charismatic persona make him one of the most respected, admired and enduring personalities in the music entertainment business. He has sustained his popularity by keeping his finger on the musical pulse, and his recordings have spanned the spectrum from pop to rock, r&b, contemporary dance and urban soul. He continues to perform hundreds of concert every year.
“I still love it and feel great! I know some performers who grumble: ‘Oh I’ve got a new album coming out and I need to go promote It’ — like it’s a negative — and I can’t understand it,” he says. “I honestly love touring, I couldn’t imagine not doing it!”
The next chapter of his amazing career sees the December 4 release of his first new album in 15 years titled ’24 Hours’. It represents a milestone for the singer, from interpreting a classic Bruce Springsteen track (The Hitter) to writing and working alongside the likes of Bono and The Edge (Sugar Daddy) to utilising modern day producing maestros, Future Cut (Lily Allen). ‘24 Hours’ showcases the best of what has made him a legend.
“To turn in an album this hungry at this age speaks volumes about his desire to prove that hes still got it. And he has.” – BBC
In a very special offer to celebrate the release of ’24 Hours’, for a limited time only anyone who purchases a ticket to the concert will also receive a free copy of the album!
Backed by a 10-piece band, Tom has just kicked off a UK/European tour and is in red hot form, with critics raving..... ‘A blistering set’, ‘Jones has lost none of his star charisma or his trademark voice’, and ‘his showmanship last night could have taught a thing or two to numerous acts half his age!’
Sir Tom Jones clearly has friends in high places. Even Her Majesty the Queen cannot deny his irresistible talent, choosing to knight him in 2006 to commemorate his contribution to popular music.
Tom last visited Australia in 2005 for a joint tour with Australia’s own ‘Voice’, John Farnham but this will be his first headline tour in 10 years. With an enviable live reputation that span generations, tickets for this show are sure to go fast!
Special guest support artist DAVID CAMPBELL describes himself first and foremost as “an entertainer".
